
The Ministry of Mines and Steel Development is organizing the 2nd edition of the National Council on Mining and Minerals Resources Development (NCMMRD) themed: Minerals and metals sector – frontier for national economic diversification. Membership of the Council is made up of the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Honourable Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries in charge of Mineral Resources in the States and other stakeholders in the Minerals and Metals sector. The recommendations of NCMMRD shall assist the Ministry to initiate, review and strengthen policies for the Minerals and Metals Sector.
The Honourable Minister of State, Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Hon. Abubakar Bawa-Bwari hereby invites Honourable Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries of relevant ministries, Miners Association of Nigeria (MAN), Women in Mining, Minerals Resources Environmental Committee (MIREMCO), Operators and other relevant Stakeholders in the Minerals and Metals sector, to the 2nd edition of the National Council on Mining and Mineral Resources Development (NCMMRD). The 2018 edition of the National Council on Mining and Minerals Resources being hosted by the Kaduna State Government is scheduled to hold from Tuesday 2nd – Friday 5th October, 2018 in Kaduna.
Stakeholders and interested members of the public are hereby invited to submit memoranda of not more than five (5) pages in both hard and soft copies on any of the following topic(s):
- Sustainable Development of the Minerals and Metal Sector in Nigeria with focus on Governance and related issues;
- Minerals and Metal Sector: Frontier for Revenue Generation -Opportunities and Challenges;
- Addressing Fiscal Challenges in the Mining and Metal Sector;
- The Imperatives for Value Chain activities in the Nigerian Minerals and Metal Sector for
- Economic and Social Growth;Security issues in the Minerals and Metal sector: The way forward.
The memoranda should be submitted in hard copies in standard format on or before 15th September, 2018 to:
